In terms of value, Vietnam’s rice exports totaled $2.9 billion in 2019, up 2 percent from 2018. The Philippines was the largest exporter in value terms as well, with $3 billion worth of rice exports in 2019 (up 1 percent from 2018), followed by India with $2.6 billion (down 4 percent from 2018). As a result, Vietnam’s share of global rice export values rose from 12 percent in 2018 to 13 percent in 2019 while the share held by both the Philippines and India declined slightly from 14 percent to 14 percent and from 12 percent to 11percent, respectively.
